2026 Dalseong Daegu Contemporary Art Festival Movement: Flow-Ringer-Flux
September 11, 2026 - October 11, 2026Overview
The Dalseong Daegu Contemporary Art Festival is a contemporary art festival held around Gangjeongpo, carrying on the spirit of the Daegu Contemporary Art Festival of the 1970s, when young artists challenged the rigidity of the established art world and conducted a variety of artistic experiments. Gangjeong, the venue of the Dalseong Daegu Contemporary Art Festival, is significant as the site of Korea’s first collective event, held during the 3rd Daegu Contemporary Art Festival in 1977, which brought together approximately 200 artists—the largest number in the festival’s history.
